Greater Reading Mental Health Alliance
The goal of the GRMHA Educational Non-Attorney Advocates’ is to assure children are receiving appropriate services from their schools by helping establish a working, collaborative relationship between parents and their school districts.
If it is determined that this program meets your needs, and you agree to the terms of our service, we will ask that you obtain any documents relevant to your child’s educational / behavioral needs (i.e. – IEPs, FBAs, evaluations, etc.) and provide them to us so our advocates can begin work immediately.
Active parental participation is necessary for the advocates to be successful. We will ask that you meet with the advocate so they understand what you would like to see this program accomplish. The advocates will listen to you, help you access information, support you in making your own choices and decisions, attend meetings as necessary and advocate for you and your child.
The following list includes some of the processes the GRMHA Educational Advocates can assist parents navigating.

In order to assist all the families in Berks County who are seeking help from GRMHA in a timely manner, we will be limiting the maximum length of time we’ll provide services. There will be a flat fee for the first six months which can be paid in full prior to service beginning or paid in six equal monthly installments. Any work that is required beyond the initial six months will be billed at an hourly rate. Accounts that are delinquent 90 days will result in services being discontinued.
